Founded by the Hayek family for graduating seniors from Linganore High School or Oakdale High School based on a 3.0 GPA, 50 hours of community service, participation in school activities/clubs, and involvement in faith-based activities.
Jeffrey Hayek was a sweet, caring, and full-of-life 10 year old boy who had a love for baseball, root beer, and the color pink. He also enjoyed playing the snare drum in the 4th grade band. According to his family, he was always looking forward to what was happening next. During his short life, he brought a smile to many people’s faces. Sadly, shortly after Jeff finished 4th grade in June of 2007, he suddenly passed away from a clotting disorder in his head. His legacy will be kept alive through this scholarship fund to assist graduates of Linganore and Oakdale High Schools in paying for college.
