About Us
For four decades, we have helped translate simple good intentions into powerful acts of philanthropy that build a stronger, more vibrant community not only for today but for the future.
We’ve guided thousands of generous Frederick County citizens, like you, in creating funds that capture their unique visions or contributing to existing funds that closely match their charitable intentions. These funds provide scholarships to students pursuing their educational dreams, and grants to area nonprofits.
Our Mission
The Community Foundation provides trusted leadership and guidance to create enduring impact in Frederick County, connecting people who care with the causes they care about.
Our Values
FOUNDATIONAL VALUE
Integrity. We earn and keep the trust of Frederick County. Every gift is honored. Every dollar is stewarded for the donors who entrusted us, and for the generations they hope to reach.
PRACTICED VALUES
We are welcoming. We are intensely local. Rooted in Frederick County, open to everyone. If your heart is here, you belong here.
We are connected. We bring people, causes, and resources together, because lasting impact has never been a solo act.
We are impactful. We build for today and for future generations, honoring the lasting legacies of our donors.
Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
The Community Foundation strives to be a diverse, inclusive, and accessible organization that can fulfill our mission of supporting our entire community. This means making efforts to improve equity and inclusiveness in both our internal operational policies and practices and our external grantmaking and community work.
