Compofelice Family Fund for Building Trades

Founded by Susan C. Compofelice to support organizations seeking to help Frederick County residents receive training for construction trades in the Frederick County area.

This fund was established by Susan C. Compofelice in honor and loving memory of her husband, Joe, a man whose life was defined by hard work, a relentless pursuit of knowledge, and a deep commitment to mentoring others.

Joe’s journey in the trades began at the age of 12, when he first learned to paint homes. That early spark grew into a lifelong passion for building and mastering new skills. After serving his country in the Navy, Joe embarked on a distinguished government career at the Department of Energy, where his broad technical knowledge, drive for excellence, and dedication to continuous learning earned him the position of Project Manager at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

In creating this fund, Sue found great pride and joy in knowing she was carrying forward Joe’s legacy, ensuring that others would have the opportunities he so deeply valued. The fund provides grants to Frederick County residents and the organizations that serve them. Support covers needs such as steel-toed boots, training and certification costs, transportation, and educational materials, removing the financial barriers that can stand between hardworking individuals and meaningful careers.

Joe and Sue will long be remembered for their generosity and their shared belief that hard work and opportunity should be available to all, regardless of financial means.
