Putman Family Fund

Founded by Megan Fletcher, Richelle Putman and Donald Putman to provide athletic scholarships to Frederick County youths kindergarten through 12th grade.

After the heartbreaking loss of their sister and daughter, Lauren Putman, the Putman family experienced firsthand how unexpected tragedy and financial burdens can place tremendous strain on families. Through this fund, they hope to help relieve some of those burdens so children can continue participating in activities that bring them happiness, growth, opportunity, and a sense of belonging.

They recognize that families do not have to experience the loss of a loved one to face financial hardship. The rising costs of youth sports and activities can create significant pressure for families trying to provide opportunities for their children.

The Putman family has been part of the Frederick community for decades. They have deep roots, strong relationships, and a commitment to giving back to the community that has supported them through both joyful and difficult times. They envision this fund benefiting children and families throughout Frederick by helping provide access to sports and activities that may otherwise feel out of reach.

Through this fund, the Putman family hopes to honor Lauren’s memory by creating opportunities, easing burdens, and helping families continue building the moments and memories that matter most.
