Founded by Marc D. and Sophia P. Richmond to provide scholarships for youths in need of financial assistance to participate in programs related to music, band, or marching band.

The Dan Richmond Music and Hope Scholarship Fund was created from a place of deep love, grief, and gratitude. After losing Dan to kidney cancer in September 2025, his family felt called to carry something forward in his name – something that reflected the heart of who he was. Music was Dan’s great passion, but importantly, teaching was his purpose. For more than 32 years, he shaped young musicians not just by showing them how to play, but by helping them believe in themselves. His calm guidance, gentle humor, and patient encouragement left lasting imprints on countless students, many of whom still talk about the confidence he helped them discover.
