Edward D. Grove, Sr. Scholarship Fund

Founded by Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dawson Grove, Jr. and Susan Grove Skelly for Frederick County residents studying agriculture.

Edward Dawson Grove, Sr. was a well-known agrarian in Frederick County. He and his brother started the MJ Grove Lime Company; yet his primary interest in life remained farming. To honor Mr. Edward Dawson grove, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dawson Grove, Jr., Mr. Grove’s son and daughter-in-law, and Susan Grove Skelly, Mr. Grove’s daughter, established The Edward D. Grove, Sr. Scholarship Fund. Scholarships are awarded from this fund to Frederick County students attending an accredited university and pursuing a degree in agriculture.

The Edwin and Melanie Hoffman Family Fund, established by the Hoffmans’ children in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman, will provide grants to nonprofit organizations addressing critical needs in Frederick County. These grants, guided by the most recent Human Needs Assessment, will support families with children, preparing for an aging population and responding to substance use disorder.
