Janet L. Michael Fund

Founded by Mrs. Michael to provide grants to The Salvation Army, The Weinberg Center for the Arts, Maryland Room of the C. Burr Arts Library, and The Spires Brass Band, Inc.

The Janet L. Michael Fund, established by Mrs. Michael, provides grants to four local nonprofits: The Salvation Army, The Weinberg Center for the Arts, The Maryland Room at the C. Burr Artz Library, and Spires Brass Band. Mrs. Michael was involved as a volunteer with The Salvation Army Auxiliary, and attends and enjoys concerts given by Spires Brass Band, as well as many events at the Weinberg Center. She also is an avid reader, and has utilized the resources of The Maryland Room many times. “I want to support organizations and activities that have given me a lot of enjoyment over the years,” said Mrs. Michael.

Middletown Valley Trails Fund

A fund created for planning, purchasing land, and constructing trails in the Middletown Valley. A priority is to connect towns with each other and with parks, including the C&O Canal, South Mountain, and Gambrill Park, through a combination of multi-use trails. The trails across and through the Valley will enable people of all generations and backgrounds to get outside and connect with nature and in doing so create healthier and happier communities.
