Memorial Contributions for John “Jack” Tritt

Jack will be deeply missed for his kindness, leadership, and the strong relationships he built, especially during his six years on the Community Foundation’s board of trustees, where he served as secretary and chaired the scholarship committee. The family will decide at a later time which of the Foundation’s 800+ funds will benefit from the many memorial gifts being given in his honor, ensuring that his legacy continues to support the community he cared so much about.

Gregory Joseph Troy Memorial Fund

Founded by Greg’s mother, Susan Best, and brother, Joshua Troy, to provide scholarships for children and dependents of active and retired Frederick City and County police officers or other uniformed law enforcement officers located in Frederick County.

A 1998 graduate of Middletown High School, Gregory Joseph Troy attended University of Maryland and went on to work in the finance and internet technology field. At age 27, he decided to pursue a career in law enforcement with the Baltimore County Police Department. While he was waiting for his security clearance, Mr. Troy became ill and was diagnosed with stage four cancer. Mr. Troy passed away at the age of 30. He was the husband of Antionette Messina Troy and son of the late Lawrence Joseph Troy and Susan Troy Best. Though his career in law enforcement was never realized, Mr. Troy will help others achieve that goal.
