Funds Support FFA, Agriculture Education

Frederick County is home to more than 1,300 farms and 181,500 acres of farmland. Agriculture is one of the oldest and largest industries in the county, generating an economic impact of nearly $1.5 billion annually. Agriculture is vital to Frederick County and educating and inspiring future farmers has been top of mind for several Community Foundation donors.

Trumpower Foundation Scholarship Application Opens March 1

FREDERICK, MD – February 24, 2022: The Harold Glen and Audrey G. Benson Trumpower Foundation Scholarship Fund is a component fund of The Community Foundation of Frederick County. Founded by the Trumpower Foundation, the fund provides educational scholarships to Carroll County, Maryland residents. Last year the fund awarded 64 scholarships totaling more than $627,000.

Community Foundation Announces More Than $1 Million Available in Scholarships, Online Application Opens March 1.

FREDERICK, MD – February 24, 2022: The Community Foundation of Frederick County’s online scholarship application for the 2022-2023 academic year will be available beginning Tuesday, March 1, 2022. For the seventh consecutive year, more than $1 million in scholarship funds are available to students pursuing post-secondary education or vocational training. By completing one general application, students may qualify for more than 250 scholarships. The completed application must be submitted online no later than 11:59 p.m. EST on March 31, 2022.
