FREDERICK, MD – Mar. 7, 2024: Following the death of her husband of 33 years, Anne Topper created The Rick Topper Charitable Fund to benefit nonprofit organizations that support students working towards a career in the construction trades. This fund is one of more than 790 funds held by the Community Foundation.

Anne established the fund as a tribute to her beloved late husband Rick to honor his legacy of giving so much of his time and talent to those around him.

Rick was the owner and president of Frederick-based Topper Construction Company. He grew the business into a well-respected and acclaimed general roofing, waterproofing and siding company in the Mid-Atlantic region and was admired by his many employees, subcontractors and business associates. He was a devoted family man who coached community youth sports and supported his three children in all of their endeavors.

“Rick was always willing to give a helping hand and his impact was incredible,” Anne said. “He enriched the lives of countless people through his positive and selfless spirit. His legacy of hard work, leadership and generosity will continue through this charitable fund by helping those who have a passion for the construction trades to achieve their educational and career goals and dreams.”
