Armin Rahman Receives the Wertheimer Youth in Action Award

Armin is a compassionate and driven young leader whose dedication to service has made a meaningful impact in her school and community. A standout student at Brunswick High School, she served as vice president and president of the National Honor Society, as well as vice president of the National English Honor Society, while also participating in Mu Alpha Theta and National Art Honor Society. Through these organizations, Armin has engaged in countless service projects that reflect her commitment to academic excellence and community betterment.

Outside of school, Armin has devoted over 180 hours as a Sunday school teacher at the Islamic Society of Frederick, where she inspires and mentors younger students. As a Brunswick Library teen volunteer, she has contributed more than 250 hours, creating a welcoming, engaging space for local youth. Her internship at Brunswick Middle School’s library allowed her to combine creativity with service, transforming the space into one that sparks curiosity and excitement. Armin believes that youth volunteering builds empathy and reminds us that helping one another is essential to humanity.

With her Wertheimer Youth in Action Award, Armin will provide a grant to Frederick County Public Library Brunswick Branch in support of its mission.
