Frederick Police Endowment Fund Presents First Scholarships

FREDERICK, MD – July 20, 2017: The first scholarships from The Frederick Police Department Endowment Fund have been presented to Kayleigh Day and Morgan Figgins.  The fund is one of more than 679 component funds of The Community Foundation of Frederick County and was founded by the Community Foundation to honor Chief Charles V. Main for his 24 years of service as Frederick City Chief of Police. Ms. Day is a graduate of Linganore High School and will be attending Frederick Community College. Ms. Figgins is a graduate of Walkersville High School and will be attending Stevenson University. For the 2017-18 academic year, the Community Foundation has provided more than $1 million for post-secondary and vocational training.
