The 2022 Wertheimer Fellow for Excellence in Volunteerism Awards

Nominations are open through 11:59 p.m. on May 31, 2022.

Do you know a special person who makes a profound difference in the lives of others by volunteering their own distinctive talents and energies in the Frederick County community? Someone who volunteers through sweat equity rather than financial capital? If you do, the Community Foundation wants to know about them. Nominate that extraordinary person as a 2022 Wertheimer Fellow for Excellence in Volunteerism. Each year, two outstanding volunteers are honored at the Community Foundation's Annual Report to the Community and are awarded $25,000 each to establish or add to a permanent fund with the Community Foundation, continuing a legacy of meaningful impact.

  • The nominee must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of Frederick County, Maryland. Each nomination will only be considered for the 2022 awards. (Youth can be nominated using the Wertheimer Youth in Action form.)
  • Nominations should be for an individual only and are not accepted for couples, groups, clubs, or organizations.
  • Please note: individuals only need to be nominated once for consideration.
  • Nominations should be based on your personal knowledge of the volunteer's activities and the impact they have made.
  • You will receive an email confirmation that your nomination has been received.
