Community Foundation Announces FY2020 Strategic Grant Application

FREDERICK, MD – June 25, 2019: The Community Foundation of Frederick County announces its FY2020 dates for strategic grant applications and information sessions. Applications for strategic grants will be accepted July 15, 2019 through August 15, 2019. This grant cycle will allow organizations to apply for program grants to support services related to the Community Foundation’s 2011 Strategic Initiatives and/or to apply for planning grants to support capacity building related to the Community Foundation’s 2019 Strategic Initiatives.

Grants Supporting Agriculture Education and Activities Available

FREDERICK, MD – June 17, 2019: The Community Foundation of Frederick County is accepting applications for funding from its Friends of the Great Frederick Fair Fund. This fund supports organizations providing agriculture education, renovating, constructing and maintaining buildings used to promote agricultural activities by nonprofit organizations, and promoting agriculture as an industry and as a way of life in Frederick County, Maryland.

FREDERICK, MD – June 10, 2019: The Community Foundation of Frederick County recently presented ten music scholarships totaling $4,950.00 from two funds to talented young musicians, in support of vocal or instrumental music instruction and training.

FREDERICK, MD – May 1, 2019: A well-known businessman, politician, and community philanthropist who passed away at age 99 in early 2019 has left a permanent legacy in the form of new funds with The Community Foundation of Frederick County. With his vision for the future, Donald L. Lewis of Thurmont made provisions in his estate to create these funds benefiting local nonprofits: The Donald Lewis Community Impact Fund for The Religious Coalition for Emergency Human Needs, Meals on Wheels, The Community Foundation of Frederick County, Frederick Rescue Mission, Advocates for the Aging, and Mission of Mercy.

FREDERICK, MD – April 30, 2019: From May 1 through May 31, 2019, The Community Foundation of Frederick County is accepting online applications for music instruction scholarships at www.ScholarshipsFrederickCounty.com. Business Roundtable Fund Supports Youth Apprenticeship Program

FREDERICK, MD – April 18, 2019: A grant from The Frederick County Business Roundtable for Education Fund, one of more than 700 funds managed by The Community Foundation of Frederick County, is providing partial funding to the Youth Apprenticeship Maryland program in Frederick County. The grant was supported with a $15,000 gift to the fund from FirstEnergy Foundation.
