August 7, 2017: The Richard and Betsy Reinders Fund has been established.

July 28, 2017: The Community Foundation of Frederick County recognized its FY2017 Strategic Funding Partners who supported its strategic grantsmaking through donor-advised funds and direct contributions in the areas of health care, services to the homeless and precariously housed, and school-readiness for children.

July 21, 2017: Grants totaling $1,228.26 from The Halleman Family Fund were presented to Friends of Carroll Creek Urban Park, Inc. to support its Color on the Creek initiative, and The Flowers Over Frederick Fund, to support its downtown Frederick hanging flower basket program.

July 20, 2017: The first scholarships from The Frederick Police Department Endowment Fund have been presented to Kayleigh Day and Morgan Figgins.

July 20, 2017: The first scholarships from The Will Group Fund have been presented to Chloe Houck, Erin Lafferty, Thomas Morris, and Sydney Rossman.

July 17, 2017: The George D. Ford, Jr., and Barbara S. Ford Scholarship Fund has been established through Mrs. Ford’s estate, and becomes one of more than 679 funds managed by The Community Foundation of Frederick County.

July 14, 2017: In honor and memory of Virginia K. Draper – wife, mother, grandmother, educator, author, and historian - Mark and Frances Draper and their daughter Sadie Wiles have established The Virginia K. Draper Memorial Scholarship Fund with The Community Foundation of Frederick County.

July 13, 2017: Helping seniors with dental care has been near and dear to Grace Winpigler’s heart for many years.

July 13, 2017: The Carolyn D. McGolerick Scholarship Fund has been established through Mrs. McGolerick’s estate.

July 12, 2017: The Women’s Giving Circle of Frederick County announces that 33 grants totaling $173,000 have been presented to 20 area nonprofits serving women and children.
