FREDERICK, MD – July 3, 2018: The first scholarship from The Gina M. Cumberland Memorial Scholarship Fund has been presented to Janice Smith. The fund is one of more than 690 component funds of The Community Foundation of Frederick County and was founded by Mrs. Cumberland’s husband Michael for students pursuing post-secondary education in Maryland. Ms. Smith is a graduate of Walkersville High School and will be attending Frederick Community College. For the 2018-19 academic year, the Community Foundation has provided more than $1 million for post-secondary and vocational training.
