Strategic Grants

Mission of Mercy, dental
Mission of Mercy received a grant from The Health Care Strategic Initiatives Fund to provide dental services to people who are uninsured or under-insured.

We fund nonprofits meeting the areas of greatest need in Frederick County through strategic grants. These needs have been identified in The Frederick County Human Needs Assessment Report. Since 2011 when the first strategic grants were made, more than $2.3 million has been invested into these areas.

Currently, we are funding high impact projects that:

  • reduce emergency department visits
  • prevent homelessness and help the newly homeless
  • improve school readiness for young children

The focus of strategic grant funding may change as new data becomes available.
